And Happy 2014 to you all!
I’ve been planning and looking ahead to what’s coming up for me in this new year – and it’s going to be a very special year for me. I have an important event to celebrate when we get to December.
But before I talk about that, let’s look at what’s happening before then. 2013 was a difficult year and as a result I didn’t write anything like as much as I would have liked to have done, but there is still a new title coming up before too long. In June 2014, my latest title A Question of Honour (or A Question of Honor, depending on which continent you’re on!) will be published in both Harlequin Presents and Mills & Boon Modern Romance. This story has a with a very sexy sheikh hero - Karin Al Khalifa - who is sent on an important mission that demands he lives by his code of honour, only to find that meeting Clementina Saveneski tests that honour to the utmost. This story was inspired by something that happened in my own family’s past – but I’ll tell you more about that when the book is published.
Also lined up before A Question of Honour is the reprint of one of my past titles. if you missed the publication of The Good Greek Wife back in 2010, this book is being reissued as the lead title in a 3 in 1 reprint Eligible Greeks – Sizzling Affairs in April this year.
I don’t have the covers of either of these book available yet. But just as soon as I get them, I’ll post them up on the web site for you to see.
At the moment, one of the things I’m most looking forward to is the Advanced Romance Writing course that I shall be running in Fishguard in Wales in February (details are available on the Events page. That one is already booked up but there are two new courses I’ll be running - Writing Romantic Fiction (May) and Before you submit your Novel - The Practicalities (October). Both of these courses will be organised by Malaga Writing Workshops Relax and Write weekends at a 4 star venue, Weetwood Hall, in Leeds. I always enjoy running courses and meeting other writers – so these will be great. All the details you need – and the way to book if you’d like to come along are on the Events page and if anything else is planned, that’s where you’ll find the information.
And thinking about teaching writing – this year marks a whole new beginning for the 12 Point Guide to Writing Romance. I’m going to be publishing this myself and making sure that it is more easily available in ebook formats in the future. I need to tweak a couple of sections to bring it right up to date – but the new edition will be ready just as soon as I can manage it. As soon as I have all the details organised, I’ll be reworking the Writers page and putting up all the information you need.
Oh yes, and - that very special event I was talking about - in December I will be celebrating the anniversary of my very first book The Chalk Line being published and 30 years of being published as a romance writer. Look out for some special celebrations coming up to mark that.
Well, that’s my look ahead at 2014 – I hope you all have some lovely things to look forward to. And I hope you enjoy the books and events I have coming up for this year.
