A Message from Kate...

Hello everyone — and Happy 2012 to you all. I hope you have a wonderful time coming up with your family and all those you love, that the days bring you some special treats and joys - and that the new year in 2012 is very special and happy for all of you.

As with so many things recently, I'm a bit late writing this letter to you all. 2011 was a difficult year in many ways, and I've never quite caught up with myself. There has been illness and the sadness of the loss of my mother in law, all of which meant that I had too little time to do too many things.

We also lost the wonderful Sid the Cat who has done such a fabulous job of picking the winners of my prizes winners for so many years. But he did train up his apprentice, young Charlie the Maine Coon who will now take over this task in the future. Charlie has already put his training into practice by picking all the winners of my recent Big Blog Tour giveaways and my Countdown to Christmas giveaways—and he will be back in action every time I run a contest from now on.

But there is good news—and the first thing I want to celebrate is that I heard from Romantic Times magazine that one of my books—The Proud Wife - has been nominated in the short list for their Reviewers' Award of Best Presents Extra 2011. You'll remember that last year I actually won this award with The Konstantos Marriage Demand so this is the second year running that I've been nominated. It would be amazing to win it twice in a row, but there are some other really great books also in the running so I'm just pleased and honoured to be short listed.

Looking forward to 21012 I have a new title coming out soon. This will be The Devil and Miss Jones and will be out in March (UK) and in Harlequin Presents Extra in April. The new covers for this book are on the books pages for USA and UK. This will be my 60th title for Harlequin—I can't quite believe that there are so many of my titles in print! I'm going to have to think of some special way to celebrate.

There are also a couple of reprints coming up early in 2012 The first of these will be His Suitable Bride which is out on February 17th—the only problem with these is that I don't know which books are appearing in the collection! This By Request collection also contains stories by Abby Green and Cathy Williams. But there's also a reprint in the Greek Affairs collection coming soon. I do know which of my books is reprinted in this one—It's Bedded By The Greek Billionaire. That will be out later in the year.

For those of you who like ebooks, and who might want to reread—or read for the first time—some of my backlist books, there's good news about the number of my older titles that are being reissued in this way. Over on the Mills & Boon web site—and on Amazon, you'll see that, along with the books that have been reissued in the Harlequin Treasury series, there is now a list of older books that are being released in the UK in ebook form. The details of the books are on the individual book pages—but the titles now available are:

I'm sure more will be added to this list soon—so keep an eye out for new titles.

If you're interested in learning to write romance then I will have new courses and workshops coming up in 2012, and these are in various parts of the UK—and abroad—so there might be something to suit you, wherever you live. Check out my Events page to see what's coming up—starting with a return to the lovely Fishguard Writing Weekend in February, workshops in Nottingham and Brigg in Lincolnshire and. New and extra special for October 2012 is the fabulous week-long writing course Beyond The Hearts and Flowers in glorious Tuscany. So if your new year resolution is to take your writing to the next stage and learn as much as you can about writing romance, then maybe one of these events/courses will work for you.

I hope that the new year is really special for you. That you have lots of fun and joy—and maybe a few really great books to read and enjoy. I hope that you all have a wonderful time and I'll look forward to sharing more news and more books with you all in 2012.
