A Message from Kate...
Hello and welcome to my site!
This year is one of celebration for me. This past December marked something very special, my 25th year of publication. It was in December 1984 that my very first book ever was published. That was The Chalk Line and when I first held that book in my hands, I had no idea that it would mark the start of such a long and wonderful career as a writer. All I could think of was how wonderful it was to have achieved my long-held ambition to have a book I had written published. I never imagined that 25 years later I would still be writing, have 56 titles published or accepted and awaiting publication and be the author of two guides on how to write romantic fiction as well.
So because this is such a special anniversary for me I’ll be celebrating in many ways, one of which is by running a couple of contests – well, contests and polls really – and there will be - suitably enough - 25 prizes to give away. I’m asking my readers to let me know what the very first ever Kate Walker title you read was and I’ll be publishing some of those stories on my blog. And then I’d love to know which are your Top 5 Favourite Kate Walker stories of all time. Everyone who enters will have their name put into the prize draw with a chance of winning one of the prizes. Another special bit of news to share is that I've had not one, but two books picked recently by Romantic Times as Top Picks! The Konstantos Marriage Demand (available now in the UK and March in the US) received a 4.5 stars and has been named as their March 2010 Top Pick. The other book to recently receive this honor was Bedded by the Greek Billionaire.

I’m travelling the length and breadth of the country this year – with events in north and south of England, in Wales, and my very first venture into teaching way up in the Highlands of Scotland. Besides The Konstantos Marriage Demand, which will be out in the US in March, I also have several other new books coming out in the first six months of 2010. First is a very special 3-in-1 collection of reprints By Request which will be out in May. This will be an anthology named Claimed by the Sicilian which will republish three of my stories featuring sexy Sicilian heroes - Sicilian Husband, Blackmailed Bride, The Sicilian's Red-Hot Revenge, and The Sicilian's Wife. Unfortunately this is only available in the UK, but if you follow the links to The Book Depository on my blog/site then you can buy it there – and they offer free delivery worldwide so you’ll be able to get your hands on it that way.
Then of course there's the special WeWriteRomance Selects Presents Ebook Bundle available January 1, 2010. You can see this bundle illustrated in the side panel. It contains my book The Twelve-Month Mistress along with three other great Presents titles by Anne McAllister, Michelle Reid and Margaret Mayo. If you’re into ebooks, this is a real treat.
And finally I have just heard that my latest title has been bought and scheduled. This is the first of my books to be given one of the new style titles - not a billionaire in sight! It’s called A Good Greek Wife? And it’s part of a brand new mini series which updates the Greek Myths into a modern romance form. It was great fun and a real challenge to work on and I’m really happy with the book that was the result (my editor was pretty pleased too).
Now I’m hard at work on the next novel – and this time I’m back with a sexy Sicilian hero once again.
